Cosmos-Atelier71: the journey begins
Formally launched on October 23rd, 2009, the 'Cosmos-Atelier71 Print making Studio', a centre for graphic arts, organized a two-day printmaking workshop from January 29th to January 30th. During the workshop a total of forty participants explored both 'drypoint' and 'mixed mediums', the results of which were a source of inspiration for the attending guests, among whom also present were Suk Bum Park, South Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh, and Dr. Urs Herren, Swiss Ambassador to Bangladesh.
The studio is planning numerous other activities for promoting print making in Bangladesh through programmes such as national and international art workshops, art exchange programmes, residencies, exhibitions, research programmes, scholarships, publications, etc.
Atelier is also keen to ensure that young print makers continue their practices as a serious pursuit by accessing the studio space and the paraphernalia needed for such artistic activities.
